with Larry Brown,Charlotte Bobcats (NBA) Head coach;NCAA Championship Coach (Kansas - '88)& NBA Championship Coach (Detroit Pistons - '04);Basketball Hall of Fame ('02)
The three priorities in breaking are to get the ball up the floor as fast as possible, swing the ball from side to side, and look for numbers and attack when they are in your favor. In this excellent clinic demonstration, Larry Brown presents drills and teaching points to get stronger in these three areas. He begins with progression passing drills for full court basketball. Key components of these drills are leading with the pass, running and catching, communication, full speed lay-ups, using two hands and finishing at the rim. After pushing the ball up the floor, Coach Brown focuses on getting the ball inside to the post. He teaches offensive rotations on post feeds, skip passes from wing to wing, back screening on ball reversals and post to post butt screens in the paint. The pick and roll is also a feature of this offense that is presented by Brown. He introduces two wrinkles, Swing & Dive, as additional parts of the scheme. Taking pages from current NBA teams and players, Coach Brown also demonstrates four excellent offensive looks from the pick and roll package!
