Basketball Shooting Drills - 55 Team Foul shooting

Description:

Fun and productive daily Team Foul Shooting Drill

Instructions:

A coach will put three minutes on the clock. At his GO CALL each group begins shooting.

Player must make both ends of a one and one. If he does, he yells out his last name and the coach records this as a team point. If he misses he becomes the rebounder and the next player shoots. (If you miss the first shot you instantly rebound)

Continue rotating for three minutes. At the end the team goal for High School is 55 total succesfull one and one trips to the line.

This builds a team attitude and pride in improving the number. If you fall short you can run a sprint or two.

This is a drill that actually works, it simulates game action, pressure and pride in making shots.

Number of Players:

Two per basket

Tips:

Having a kid just stand at the line and take ten in a row never happens in a game, so why practice that way?

Variations:

You can always increase the team number up to 60 or 65. In seasons with poor shooting teams 40 or 45 may be more realistic and build more team confidence.

Skills:

Improves foul shooting and overall concentration. Have coaches rotate hoops correcting technique each day.
