Basketball Shooting Drills - 5-spot shooting

Description:

Great shooting drill for teams or individual players.

Instructions:

Start with 3 players at the top of the key 2 of them holding basketballs. The rest stand in a line at the baseline. Another person stands under the basket as a rebounder. The first person at the top of the key and passes to the first in the baseline line. The receiver shoots, and the rebounder grabs it and passes to the player with out the ball. The shooter becomes the rebounder. Shoot as many shots as you want and then move to the next spot-the elbow. Take shots at the left baseline, left elbow, top of the key, right baseline, and right elbow and move the passing lines accordingly so they don't get in the way.

Number of Players:

1 and up.

Tips:

Set an amount of shots the team must make.

Variations:

You can increase distance away from the basket.

Shoot with one dribble as well.

Individual variation: Shoot, sprint after the rebound, run back and shoot again.

Skills:

Jump shot.
