3 players stand under each basket on the court. A third group of three stands at half court with the player at mid court holding the basketball with the other players at each wing. At the whistle, the three players at half court proceed to either end to compete in a 3 on 3. Teams are to have only one shot at a basket. When a basket is made the offensive teams receives one point. Games can be played up to a predetermined amount or can be played for a predetermined amount of time.
Team at mid-court proceed to either basket. Teams are allowed only one shot per visit to each basket. Once a rebound has been received, that team must dribble to the other basket and play against the third team. If an offensive team scores a basket, they are still able to fight for the rebound, but they must still dribble down the court to the other basket and team to compete for additional points The team not grabbing the rebound must remain under the basket to play defense against the team next time coming down the court.

This drill incorporates all the skills that I want in a basketball player. It is much easier to recognize those who are working and those who are not because of the smaller number on the court. This also brings out the competitive juices in the girls. There is no break in the action, so the running is good conditioning.
You can choose to have 2 member teams, 4 member teams, or 5 member teams.
