Basketball Conditioning Drills - Big Box

Description:

This is a running drill meant to be run very hard. You can time them and make it a competition out of it.

Instructions:

You start with a line in one corner. You sprint up the sideline to the corner. You then shuffle down the end line to the other corner. When you shuffle you have to keep you feet from crossing in a defensive stance. When you get to the other corner you start back pedaling to the other endline. When reaching the other corner you shuffle as before to the first foul line. You sprint to the center line and turn around backwards going to the foul line. Shuffle to the other side of the lane. Sprint to the half court line and turn around backpedaling to the end line. They get back in line to do it again.

Tips:

We use cones to mark the positions, but you can also use basketballs.

Once again this is to be run hard. I use it for conditioning and punishment. Once a player has cleared the center line on the first sprint I send the next player.
