Basketball Passing Drills - The Help Line

Description:

This is a very simple drill where the point guard or player with ball gets stuck they stop dribbling and a defender jumps on them. Well 9-10 year olds think that an over the head toss might work. Errrrn!! No it doesn't! You must come around to get ball. It is very simple.

Instructions:

Get 6 players or up to 10. With 6 players 1 will act as defender the other 5 offense. 10 would be 5 on 5. The point dribbles. He passes or lets the defender get on him. He yells help line. Quickly a line of players must assemble to help the point guard. They continue until the have scored.

Number of Players:

6 to 10 players

Tips:

Needs about 15-20 minutes at 2 practices to get it perfect. Obviously easy.

Variations:

Another thing is like a half-court scrimmage only you can't dribble more than 3 times then you must pass/shoot. (ot preferred.)

Skills:

The skills used are your passing, some defense, and offense.
