Can I get that info sent again? I'm sorry to ask twice. Getting married and honeymooning seemed to help me lose the original email that was sent to me.

Thank you!

Wayne:

I am midway through my girls JV season. We have been running the swing and have had good success against teams that do not apply strong ball pressure. However, we have struggled with the entry pass to the wing against bigger and faster teams that have the athleticism to apply strong ball pressure. We have tried to vary entries with some ball screens, motion type down screens, and reversing the ball to start the offense. I would greatly appreciate any information you could email me concerning quick entries as well as other options within the offense. My email is mengle@grar.com.

Thanks,
Mike

Dribble your point to the wing ... instead of passing ...

Here is a new series from Championship Productions on the Swing Offense.

Link

Seattle Pacific University Head Coach Ryan Looney explains how this offense helps promote unselfishness, limit turnovers, provide great spacing, multiple players post up opportunities, and allows them to get to the free throw line. All of which is critical to offensive efficiency and to the success his team has enjoyed running this offense.

Is Looney's swing any different than others?

Simple Basic Pressure Relievers for the Swing:

Top to Wing pass is denied:
-Dribble Handoff with Wing then reverse to other side to continue offense
-Wing down screens man on block. (Wing becomes Post and Post becomes Wing)
-Post back screens Wing (Wing becomes Post and Post becomes Wing)
-Top dribbles to Wing, Wing runs thru to opposite wing and players "wheel" around. Post up screens or Wing reverses back to Top man.
-Or just reverse ball to other side and continue offense

Top to Top pass is denied:
-Reversal Top Man ball screens (treat action the same as a reversal pass) and continue offense
-Reversal Top man back cuts and Wing replaces Top reversal spot
-Reversal Top man screens away for wing
-Opposite Wing flares Reversal Top Man

I coach varsity girls. we see a lot of 1-2-2 match up zone. do you feel the swing offense will be effective against a 1-2-2 matchup zone.
i would love anything you might have on the swing offense. llay@ccboe.org
